The crowd reaction was loud enough to rival the creature itself. Disney then gave its long-dancing Yeti a proper farewell, bringing out Gloria Gaynor to perform her 1978 disco hit "I Will Survive."
###Expedition Everest at a glance
The nearly 200-foot Forbidden Mountain sits inside Disney's Animal Kingdom and hides a legendary secret.
The story starts in the queue, where a trailside museum presents evidence of campground attacks, sketches of reported sightings and a mold of an enormous yeti footprint.
Guests board an old tea train car for the climb up the rocky peaks.
More signs of the mountain's guardian appear during the high-speed ride itself, including torn sections of track.
The attraction draws on the northwest face of Mount Everest and on geological elements found in Tibet and Nepal.
What's next
Disney says further news on the Yeti's return will follow.
