Avengers drop tower: Disney reveals model of new Hong Kong Disneyland attraction

Free fall with the Avengers! At D23, Disney revealed a model of the new drop tower attraction coming to Hong Kong Disneyland – complete with a glowing Avengers "A" and a Quinjet in the courtyard. Here's everything on the tower and the Stark Expo expansion!

Things are about to get steep at Hong Kong Disneyland – at least for guests riding one particular new attraction. At D23, Disney unveiled a model of the planned Avengers drop tower, essentially an "Avengers Tower of Terror" for the park's Marvel land.

The model shows a gray tower crowned by a glowing Avengers "A," with blue accent lighting running down its sides for that high-tech feel. At the base sits a courtyard housing a parked Quinjet, framed by a relatively understated building structure.

The attraction is part of the Stark Expo expansion in the park's Tomorrowland, going in where Autopia operated until 2016. The scope is broadening too: beyond Spider-Man, more Marvel characters are set to play a part.

Hong Kong's Marvel land has been growing since 2016, with the Iron Man Experience opening in 2017 and "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle!" following in 2019. The drop tower takes the place of an E-ticket Quinjet attraction originally planned for 2023. Disney has yet to announce an official opening date.
