The project is being developed in collaboration with Square Enix and Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura. Rather than simply adapting the existing games, Disney describes the series as a brand-new story that will expand the Kingdom Hearts universe while continuing to feature the characters fans know and love.
Details about the series are still very limited. Disney has only revealed an initial teaser image and confirmed that the show will be coming to Disney+ and Disney Channel. No release date, story details or cast have been announced yet.
