Kingdom Hearts IV: New Trailer and Coco World Revealed at D23
Sora is back! A brand-new Kingdom Hearts IV trailer debuted at D23, revealing the Coco world for the first time and confirming a late 2027 release.
The wait for Kingdom Hearts IV finally has a major update! During this year's D23 event, Disney and Square Enix showcased a brand-new trailer for the highly anticipated fourth main entry in the series.
The biggest surprise was the first reveal of a Coco world. Sora travels into the Land of the Dead, bringing Pixar's colorful and unique Mexican-inspired setting into the Kingdom Hearts universe. The footage also showcases a more detailed visual style powered by Unreal Engine 5.
The trailer provides additional glimpses of Sora's next adventure and, most importantly, confirms that Kingdom Hearts IV is targeting a late 2027 release. The game is expected to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
More information is expected during the dedicated “Deep Dive into Kingdom Hearts” panel at D23, celebrating 25 years of the franchise.
And Kingdom Hearts fans received even more exciting news: Disney also announced a new Kingdom Hearts anime series in development for Disney+ and Disney Channel.
