Piston Peak National Park: New concept art offers a closer look at the “Off-Road Rally Race”

A peek inside the national park for cars! Disney has released new concept art for Piston Peak – giving us our first real sense of what the “Off-Road Rally Race” at Magic Kingdom will look like. The lodge, a wooden bridge, a finish line with Lightning McQueen and friends: here are all the details!

Over at Magic Kingdom, an entirely new “Cars”-inspired area is taking shape in Frontierland: Piston Peak National Park. At D23, Disney shared fresh concept art that paints a far clearer picture of the land's headlining attraction – the “Off-Road Rally Race.”

Three new pieces were revealed in total. The first is a sweeping overview of the area, showing the lodge, the attraction's track layout, and the surrounding scenery. One especially charming touch: a camera car is filming the race as it unfolds. Above a tunnel entrance, signage reads “Piston Peak Ridge Run Trail.”

The second image focuses on the ride path itself, showing vehicles crossing a wooden bridge with dirt trails running alongside – a nice preview of just how varied the terrain will be during the race.

The third piece is all about the big finish. Familiar “Cars” characters are celebrating at the finish line, including Lightning McQueen, Mater, Guido, and Luigi. Spectator viewing areas are also visible, giving guests a spot to watch the action unfold.

Alongside the “Off-Road Rally Race,” a second attraction is planned for the new land: “Ms. Fritter's Demolition Derby.” Disney has not yet announced a specific opening date for Piston Peak.
