Disney's Lakeshore Lodge to Open July 1, 2027 – First Look Inside the Rooms
Bay Lake has a date to circle: Disney's Lakeshore Lodge opens July 1, 2027, and Disney has just revealed the guest rooms. All 967 of them, from duo studios to the brand-new waterfront Lake Houses, inspired by Bambi, Encanto, Pocahontas and Brother Bear – with bookings starting in October.
An Opening Date at Last
Walt Disney World Resort's newest resort now has a date. On August 27, 2026, Disney confirmed through its "Letters from Lakeshore" series that Disney's Lakeshore Lodge will open on July 1, 2027, along the south shores of Bay Lake – and marked the news with an exclusive first look inside the guest rooms ahead of reservations opening in early October. The resort will feature 967 rooms ranging from intimate duo studios and spacious villas to one-of-a-kind waterfront Lake Houses, each capturing nature as seen through the eyes of Disney artists and storytellers with natural materials, earthy colour palettes and original artwork from classic Disney films set outdoors.
Waterfront Lake Houses
The headline addition is the Lake Houses, new and exclusive to this resort. Available with one or two bedrooms and sleeping up to five or eight guests, these freestanding retreats bring dramatic A-frame architecture, floor-to-ceiling windows and waterfront views, plus a private porch, full kitchen and washer and dryer. Their interiors celebrate Walt Disney Animation Studios' Brother Bear, nodding to the film's Alaskan setting and its themes of nature and discovery, while a Northern Lights-inspired lighting feature glows in the primary bedroom.
Studios, Villas and Grand Villas
Elsewhere, duo studios take their cue from the vibrant spirit of Encanto as a colourful retreat for two, and deluxe studios draw on the woodland charm of Bambi with warm natural materials and original concept artwork from the archives for up to four guests. One- and two-bedroom villas sleep up to five and nine guests respectively, also rooted in Bambi, with soft earth tones, subtle forest motifs, full kitchens, laundry, private patios and generous living and dining areas. Three-bedroom grand villas are designed for multigenerational families, celebrating the artistry of Fantasia and sleeping up to 12 guests with multiple bathrooms and a patio overlooking Bay Lake.
Resort Rooms, Club Level and Suite
Resort studios sleeping up to four guests and resort studio king rooms for up to two take inspiration from the natural beauty of Pocahontas. Select club level rooms come with access to The Artist's Nest, a concierge lounge above the treetops offering personalised service, complimentary refreshments and exclusive views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Topping the line-up, the Hidden Willow Presidential Suite sleeps six across two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, with a full kitchen, laundry and Artist's Nest access.
When Booking Opens
Reservations roll out in stages during October: Disney Vacation Club members can book early through Member Services on October 6, Walt Disney World Annual Passholders follow on October 7, and all guests can reserve online or by phone from October 8.
Good to Know About the Lodge
"Letters from Lakeshore" is Disney's ongoing update series for the project, framed like a collection of postcards running from first looks to finishing touches with behind-the-scenes moments along the way. The lobby will feature a shimmering fibre-optic river across the floor and a blown glass Colors of the Wind sculpture with hundreds of suspended glass leaves. Three dining venues debut with the resort: lakefront table-service restaurant Moonglade, all-day quick-service marketplace Bay Lake Provisions and pool bar Paint Out Point Bar & Grill near Lakeshore Lagoon. Outdoors, The Wetlands recreation area includes the Heron Shores and Otter Springs play areas, the lazy Daydream River and the zero-entry Lakeshore Lagoon pool with a spiral waterslide.
