DisneylandForward picks up speed: construction begins on the new parking structure
Room for 6,000 cars: construction has begun on a new parking structure at the Disneyland Resort. It's part of DisneylandForward – and it's meant to handle the crowds heading for the resort's upcoming attractions. Here's everything on the location, the bridge, and the EV chargers!
Construction officially began on a new parking structure at the Disneyland Resort in August 2026. It's going up on the site of the former Manchester Cast Member parking lot.
The scale is considerable: roughly 6,000 spaces are planned, including 302 EV charging stations. The facility will also include a dedicated area for shuttles and rideshare services, security, and its own access route off Disney Way.
The structure connects to the esplanade via a pedestrian bridge spanning Harbor Boulevard. To make way for that bridge, the old ticket booths are currently being demolished.
The project is part of the sweeping DisneylandForward expansion, and the reasoning is straightforward: the coming years will bring new rides at Avengers Campus, a "Coco" attraction at Pixar Pier, a reimagined Tomorrowland, and a planned Avatar land – all of which mean significantly more guest traffic. No completion date for the structure has been announced.
